Syrah is a red variety of vine (Vitis vinifera).  Is important information to know that Syrah's name comes from the cold zones of France and Shiraz's name comes from the warm regions of Australia.
This variety is easy to grow and long growing season for all kinds of weather and temperature the vine. It requires a lot of sun and high temperatures. It is resistant to most common diseases of the vine. However, in 1993 they began to see the first signs in France of a disease then called "Decay Syrah", which quickly spread to other parts of the world like the United States and Argentina, which is causing major losses decreased yields, low quality of the wine, and death of plants. So far not been able to determine the cause of the disease.
It is a very plastic, malleable and can produce grape wines, and even with high yields wines of acceptable quality are achieved. Quality wines usually have live deep violet and with powerful, ripe blackberry aromas, snuff among others.

It has a cluster of medium size, cylindrical and compact. The berries are small, ovoid and bluish color. The skin is fairly thick.
Chateauneuf du Pape is blended with Grenache, and other grape varieties elsewhere in the Rhone mixed with a small percentage of Viognier.
In Argentina has been mixed, with different qualities of grapes and results, Syrah grapes Viognier (white grapes) creating a very interesting combination of flavors and aromas-the Viognier is a very perfumed white wine that lends itself to pairings with a wide range of dishes and meals.

Syrah wine is nice and tasty, deep aroma of wild fruits and violets. The color is intense, deep. In the mouth they are usually robust, structured wines. It is ideal to share it in meetings combined with mature cheeses and cured meats, it is also excellent accompaniment to pasta with red sauces and meats generally flavored as pan, roast or stewed. The lamb is also a good reason to open a Syrah wine, as well as pork. The Syrah of America accompany roast well; the, darker and more intense, European syrah are ideal for game animals such as deer, wild boar and birds.
